City Plan and Housing Design
Kartanonkoski is the only example of the “New Urbanism Movement” in Finland. The area is designed in neoclassic style with architecture reminding of the 1930’s. The area has been very popular and was 2009 voted as the third best housing environments in Finland.
During 1998-99 we designed the city plan based on the Swedish Architect’s office Djurgårdsstaden Arkitekter’s winning competition entry and during the period 2001-05 we designed 27 central apartment buildings in the area.
The housing design project consists of
