Fiskars is a unique old village in Pohja about 100 km West of Helsinki. The village is built around old ironworks buildings and is a popular tourist attraction during summer. Fiskars was awarded Royal Destination Award for Sustainable Tourism in 2007.
Fiskars has currently approximately 600 permanent residents living and working as craftsmen, artisans and artists in the old buildings. New resident must agree to live in the village, this is one of the conditions for purchasing lots. Based on our new land use plan and architectural guidelines for the whole Fiskars area we have made five Urban Plans during 2007-11.
